First of all we bought a travel insurance plan. Through insure my trip with nationwide travel. Our flight was canceled and had to rebook with carrier and had endless delays. Finally got to the resort 36 hours later. Lost over a day with resort and airline. Tried to extend a day but no flights available. Had a nonstop ticket and had to book with one stop and travel through florida. We got back and filed claim with nationwide travel insurance. We submitted paperwork and resubmitted again. We just got a response. Denied claim. Stated that we were denied because operational delays and losing a day at the resort are not covered. Why did I buy travel insurance. That it what is used for. I know this won’t be published. Will not use this company again.

I had to file a claim on a vacation package that was delayed over 19 hours from our original start time. It took about six weeks for them to settle. Both the companion I went with, and myself received the same amount back, but I don’t think I was reimbursed for the $89 in food that I had to spend due to being delayed on our vacation .

I was sick and could not go on my trip. We had to cancel. We filed a claim with all documents and received our due insurance payment for our coverage. The only improvement I can suggest is better communication about the timing it takes to process. There is one company that handles claims for multiple insurance companies, so they are overwhelmed. I didn't even get a notification that my claim was processed. I only knew when I received a check in the mail. Other than that, everything was as promised and I will use them again.

While I didn’t need to use the insurance it was great knowing we had it … just in case. I was very pleasantly surprised at the cost for all that was covered. I’ll be purchasing again in July for another trip!

I recommend Nationwide Travel Insurance. I had to file a claim due to Delta Airlines damaging my luggage and Nationwide processed the claim and reimbursed me for the luggage. I will be using Nationwide Travel Insurance for all my vacations.

I purchased this policy for my husband and myself on a recent cruise. We didn't need to file a claim. As such, all I can truly say is that I'm satisfied with the price I paid for the coverage options I selected. However, I feel that asking me to rate a plan I actually didn't use is somewhat misleading to future clients.

I got sick just a few days after the "review period" was over, and tried to cancel the policy, since I would NOT be taking the trip. This happened the first week of Sep. The canceled trip was for Nov 1. I could not get a penny back. Emailed several times. $472 gone! If you might get sick, you must do it within ten days of purchasing the plan. No sympathy. Ridiculous!
