I'm writing my review AFTER my claim was processed. On the plus side, it was processed quickly and submitting the claim and talking with a customer representative was a positive experience. In the end, I did receive a partial reimbursement for a my claim (about 1/3 of the total). The claim was associated with the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak when I was denied entry to my destination due to the outbreak half way to my ultimate destination. The reality is that travel insurance by design doesn't cover *unnamed* events (e.g. who knew the COVID-19 virus was going to happen and thus its impacts are not covered), so they were able deny a large fraction of my claim. This is unfortunate, but the reality of travel insurance. Why would I recommend BHTP? Because they did cover part of my expenses, which is way better than the experience of some of my traveling companions whose claims were flat out denied.
