I was allowed to use this plan for a different trip after the original trip was cancelled. The pricing for the change, an upgrade to cost of trip total, was almost double what it would have been if I had bought the plan for the different trip from the start. I chose to keep the original value which waived any cancel for any reason and also waived the pre-existing conditions. Bothe of these items were not applicable to my need anyway. Their explanations were bogus and I will hope to never buy again their plan and have to cancel and use for a future trip.

I am thankful that I did not have to file a claim for this trip as I am not sure that my reason for terminating part of my trip would have been accepted by the company. I would not have traveled without a policy in place and I am glad that this policy met every possible contingency. I was not a fan of the premium price. It felt a little expensive to me.

As it turned out, this trip was cancelled again due to the Mexican government not allowing dive ships into the area. I contacted customer service, and after providing documentation, they are allowing me to use this policy for a future trip. (I have to book the trip by the end of the year.)
I thought it was very nice of them to allow that, since the trip had been cancelled and the dates moved once already. I would use this company in the future to insure my trips!

About 10 days before my cruise, my mother (not traveling with me) had a medical incident and I was told she had days to live. I immediately canceled my cruise. Had I waited until she passed, there would have been less paperwork, but I knew I wasn't going, and she did eventually pass before the cruise. I opened a claim and then submitted all of the paperwork, including doctors notes, since she was still alive at the time of the cancellation. There is a lot of paperwork to prove payment, cancellation, loss of funds, medical reports, etc. It is a bit much, and some of it is confusing, but they are helpful over the phone. In less than one week, I was notified that my claim was approved. A great company and a great response. I will be buying from them in the future.
