My trip was in late May 2019. I filed the initial claim May 4, 2019 because one of the four couples in our group had to drop out. The form for me to fill out for the claim didn't arrive until 3 weeks later while I was on my trip. I replied to the mail saying that I would fill it out when I got back in town. 2 days after I got home, I got an email stating that the claim was canceled since I hadn't sent the form back. I sent the form back later that week. After not hearing anything for several weeks I called and was told that things were being processed and that they were on a 3 week backlog. I heard back, they asked for more info, I provided it, 3-4 weeks pass, they ask for more info, I provide it, 3-4 weeks pass, they ask for more info, I provide it, 3-4 weeks pass and I finally get a response that they would be mailing me a check. I received the check today, 4 months and 1 week after my initial claim. They fully paid the claim, but the timeliness is lacking. Also, they do not reply to email. The next time I buy travel insurance, which will likely be later this year, I will not buy it with John Hancock.
