During my trip, my passport was stolen on my way to the airport for my departing flight. As a result, I had to incur costs for another hotel overnight stay, as well as trips to the Police Station to report the theft and costs for an emergency travel card and a replacement passport. Filing my claim was simple and straightforward. It is important to retain all original receipts for claimed expenses as these must be submitted along with the claim form and the police report. Customer service agents were extremely efficient and assured a response within 15 business days following receipt of the claim with all supporting documentation. I was very happy to receive a reimbursement check for $315 which covered all my submitted expenses. We travel to Mexico every year, and we always purchase travel insurance, specifically for the medical and evacuation coverage. This year during our 3.5 month stay, my father-in-law became gravely ill, so we had to travel back. We made it in time to be with him when he passed. Later, we traveled back to complete our trip. After returning home, we telephoned, and received information on how to file a claim, as the policy covered trip interruption, which we never had even thought about. Within a couple of weeks of them receiving all of the required documents, we received a check in the mail, which covered approximately three quarters of our expenses.
