I know that Traveler insurance is very expensive for "older" travelers, based on many foreign trips over the years. This trip with Nationwide Mutual was no different -- very expensive to get the "full" coverage that I desire and value (especially "Cancel for Any Reason"). I think the cost should be quite a bit less, since I feel that the companies selling this insurance and making a "handsome profit" (considering the risks) for the vast majority of policies that they write!

Easy to compare plans and select the one I needed. Easy to add additional coverage as I added costs to my trip such as airfare, etc. I didn't need to file a claim, so I can't comment on that process.

Not being privy to revenue and claims data, it is impossible to assess whether the price paid is a fair trade. Arguably, no one seeks to make a claim on insurance, but if something were to go wrong, no doubt that one would rather reduce their losses. As I did not need to make a claim, I have no information to share regarding a claims experience.

I had a trip delay and needed to file a claim. While there's a lot of documentation required, the claim was processed extremely quickly. Nationwide cut the check three business days after I emailed them the documentation and reimbursed all of my stated losses. Make sure you save all your receipts and any evidence of your loss. I wouldn't hesitate to use Nationwide again.

The plan appeared to provide adequate insurance coverage for the travel planned. The cost was reasonable in my view for the protection provided. Fortunately, I did not need to file a claim for any losses, so I cannot comment on how the insurance would actually work should there be cancellation of travel or losses incurred while away. Bottom Line: I would purchase this product again. Thanks.
