We have always bought Travelex insurance. They offer a competitive premium and primary not secondary coverage.
We had our first travel claim on our last trip, a Trans Atlantic cruise. They covered the incident and we received claims payment within three weeks. Very satisfied.

June 14 I just sent in my claim for medical aboard ship and lost bag when departure between ship and air port. Now I will find out how good they are. The claim I turned in was taken care of in about 8 days after sending in claim VERY satisfied.

Policy premium is calculated based on three main factors: trip cost, length of travel, and ages of the travelers. You actually chose a very competitive policy since the premium works out to be only 5% of your total trip cost. It is not unusual for premiums to run as high as 8-10% of the total trip cost for some plans.
