I have signed up for John Hancock Insurance multiple times when traveling overseas. I've never had to file a claim, but I enjoy knowing that people who have had to contact them got speedy, polite service. I like having peace of mind.

If you are anxiety prone or suspect that "foreign" cuisine might be challenging for you, this is protection you should probably consider. Due to our age; my husband's aversion to any food other than basic meat and potatoes and the many different areas we traveled to - including the Amazon, we think this was worth the cost.

Called John Hancock Claims on Peru trip needed urgent claims info. Long wait on hold that cost me $$ on my International Calling Plan, transferred to another Dept., Representative took my info and said they would call me back. No RSVP!!

My wife and I were fortunate to not need to test the coverage of this insurance travel plan.

We had booked the same trip last year, but my husband had kidney problems. We had to cancel the trip, and John Hancock paid immediately. Such a relief not to hassle with trip insurance when going through medical issues. This year it was wonderful to know if we needed the help it would be there. Thank you!
