I have had other policies through IMG before and even had to file a claim once which was promptly paid. I like that IMG is primary for any medical issues so that I don't have to file with my current provider first. While I did not need to use the policy this time, it was comforting to know that I had it. We were flying back after a cruise on Friday - July 19 when the Crowdstrike Global IT issues hit our cruise line (Delaying disembarkation) and our airline ( delays in check in). Many flights were canceled. If my flight had been canceled, I would have needed to overnight at a hotel in London plus get rebooked on another flight. Knowing that I had this IMG policy, I wasn't worried. Luckily we made it to the airport with 2 hours to spare and our Virgin Atlantic flight took off just 30 minutes late and we arrived in Tampa on time. Many times, things are out of your control and it was nice to know that IMG would have my back.

We were already abroad when one of us tested + on a Covid home test. We emailed IMG with a question regarding proof needed if we were not allowed to board our cruise. We didn’t hear back from them until we were headed home 16 days later. What we got was a generic email. Terrible customer service. Would never use them again.

Terrible customer service! It took over 4 months to get paid on a claim and literally 50+ hours of follow up calls with the company. Hold times were hours long and I received conflicting information. They seemed to do their best NOT to pay me for covered events in my contract - possibly hoping that I would give up. I had to escalate to the CEO in order to get any action. (I also requested help from Insure My Trip and that customer service was great). Be sure to read the contract before buying from this company. There are other companies on this site who might be a better fit. I can't recommend IMG and will never buy from them again.

Thank you for letting us know about your claim experience. We are very sorry for the delays and multiple communications. Prior to the pandemic, claims were typically processed within 30 days provided that all necessary documentation was sent in. Due to the overwhelming volume of trip cancellations and other claims during the pandemic, the normal processing time for claims has been around 3-4 months over the past year or so with most providers. That time can also be longer if they are waiting for further documentation from you. Things have started to get back to a more manageable volume so we're hopeful claims will get back to a reasonable timeframe.

I had no claims or incidents fir which use of insurance was needed, but it seemed it had reasonable cost for the coverage and sign up process was easy.

we have been very satisfied with insure my trip. luckily we havent needed to file aclaim. the process for purchasing the plan was easy and it was great to speak to a human. we also appreciated their sending us both the full policy to read via the computer but also the few page summary with all the phone numbers and procedures. we have used this company before and will again in the future

I traveled with a hiking group of women who were all in our mid to late seventies. Because of our age and the high level of physical activity we all opted for this insurance plan and were secure knowing that we were fully covered for any eventuality. Luckily, we didn't need to make a claim.
