Eligibility for Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) and other time sensitive benefits are based on the initial payment/deposit for the originally scheduled trip, for which cash was paid, and not the date the Future Travel Credit (FTC) was applied towards the trip, if such a travel credit was used.

TRIP INTERRUPTION

Benefits will be paid, up to the lesser of a) the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Confirmation of Benefits; or b) 150% of the total amount of coverage You purchased, to reimburse You for the Prepaid Payments for unused non-refundable Travel Arrangements plus the Additional Transportation Cost paid:

Bankruptcy or Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator or other travel provider (other than the Travel Supplier, tour operator, travel agency, organization or firm from whom You purchased Your Travel Arrangements) causing a complete cessation of travel services more than 14 days following Your Effective Date. Benefits will be paid due to Bankruptcy or Default of an airline only if no alternate transportation is available. If alternate transportation is available, benefits will be limited to the change fee charged to allow You to transfer to another airline in order to get to Your intended destination. This benefit only applies if the Policy has been purchased within 21 days of the date Your initial deposit/payment for Your Trip is received;

“Bankruptcy or Default” means the total cessation of operations due to insolvency, with or without the filing of a bankruptcy petition by an airline, or cruise line, tour operator or other travel provider provided the Bankruptcy or Default occurs more than 14 days following Your Effective Date for the Trip Cancellation Benefits. There is no coverage for the Bankruptcy or Default of any person, organization, agency or firm from whom You purchased Travel Arrangements supplied by others.
